According to the latest data concerning the tax-free purchases analyzed by The Shopping & Quality Tourism Institute, the group of experts on quality tourism, Spain is the third recipient of tourism in the world, with 75 million visitors in 2016, but its The vast majority are tourists from the euro zone, and only 12% of them are from outside the European Union.
The average daily expenditure per person from non-European countries reached € 277 last year, more than double the € 129 average and above € 84 for the French, € 113 for the British or € 118 for the Germans, including tourists from the Philippines (€ 449), United Arab Emirates (€ 392) and South Korea (€ 337), followed by Japanese, Indian, Israeli, Chinese, Argentine, Brazilian, Chileans, Americans, Mexicans, Venezuelans and Russians.
